Ivana Trump, the first wife of former President Donald Trump, died of blunt trauma after walking down the stairs, the coroner ruled.
A spokesman for the New York City chief medical examiner’s office said Friday afternoon that Ivana’s cause of death was “blunt trauma” and her cause of death was “accidental.”
“After the announcement of this resolution, the OCME will not comment further on the investigation,” a spokesperson said the day after Ivana’s death.
No toxicology report or details of what happened before the crash have been released.
According to the New York Times, police are investigating whether Ivana, 73, fell down the stairs of her home on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, according to two law enforcement sources. An official said there were no signs of forced entry to her residence.
Ivana was found unconscious alone in the stairwell of her home and was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
Giuliano Zuriani, who runs a restaurant Ivana frequently visited, said he was sick when he stopped by two weeks ago.
