Driver in Mississippi tries to hit black kids with his vehicle

Authorities in Mississippi, USA, are considering filing hate crime charges against a 49-year-old man, People reports.

According to police, the 49-year-old posted a video online in which he threatens to run over black children with his vehicle as he drives down a Ripley road, the police chief said. Mark Hall was arrested Tuesday and charged with nine counts of simple assault.

The 10-second video was originally posted on Snapchat. However, someone recorded it and then shared it on Facebook, where it went viral.

In the video, a man can be heard saying, “Oh shit, 50 points,” as he drives toward several black kids riding bicycles. He accelerates through the group and almost hits one of them.

The man, recording the video, then laughs to himself before uttering a racial slur. The footage was taken on Monday afternoon at around 3pm, the police chief said.
