“Zelensky is no longer served without seasoning. Now the political menu on the plate is called ‘Zelensi under Olena,’” the Russian official said.
His photography continues to cause various reactions of the Zelensky couple in Vogue magazine that has divided the internet. Volodymyr Zelensky, in his iconic khaki T-shirt, and his beautiful wife posed for the glossy cover of Vogue with renowned celebrity photographer Ani Leibovitch behind the camera, as the Russian invasion of Ukraine rages on.
The decision of the Ukrainian president Olena Zelenska to accept a photo shoot, again in Vogue, divided the social networks.
Many point to the huge amounts of aid given to the war-torn country since the beginning of the Russian invasion in February, saying that Zelensky’s decision “cheapens” that effort.
The photoshoot provoked mocking comments from the representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova.
“Have you noticed how the Western media promote Zelensky’s wife? USA visit, magazine covers, bunker photoshoots. Even the president of Ukraine now gives interviews with his wife in the background. The reason is banal – Zelensky is tired, the international audience no longer listens to him, they are tired of him. The ‘resource’ called Zelensky is completely exhausted, the image is hopelessly rotten, so it is no longer served without seasoning. Now the political menu on the plate is called ‘Zelensi under Olena,’” added the Russian official on her Telegram account.
But also the American congresswoman of the Republicans Lauren Boebert he said of the Ukrainian leadership: “These people think we’re nothing but a bunch of buffoons.”
Others, however, defended Zelensky and applauded his efforts to keep the conflict in the spotlight, even with the posh Vogue photo shoot.
“Thank you Vogue for raising awareness about Ukraine by giving voice to real Ukrainians,” said one Ukrainian citizen.
