Hungary plans to sign a deal to buy an additional 700 million cubic meters of Russian gas this summer, Hungarian PM says
“The military strategy of the West (against Russia) is not working, it has failed,” he argued on Friday Viktor Orban, noting that the chances of resolving the conflict are slim without negotiations between Russia and the United States.
Orban criticized the idea that the Ukrainian military would be able to defeat Russia with Western weapons, calling it a “delusion”. In his opinion, EU sanctions have not worked either. “The whole world is not united against Russia” speaking to radio station Kossuth.
According to the Hungarian prime minister, in this situation a new European security system is necessary. “You don’t put out a fire with a flamethrower. America has a key role to play here. This is called proxy warfare. The West is half-involved in the war, a new European security system must be agreed and Since we [η Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση] we do not have a unified army, we must again expect European stability from a Russian-American agreement,” he added.
Hungary plans to enter into an agreement to buy more 700 million cubic meters of Russian natural gas this summer, Viktor Orban also repeated, insisting that he is the “black sheep” of Europe.
“We are still negotiating with the Russians to get an additional 700 million cubic meters of natural gas,” he said.
