Column of salt was left by a woman from South Carolina when he hit it bell of her home, in the early hours of last Tuesday. Looking at the intercom he saw something he didn’t expect, one bear.
The bear visited the house and even rang the bell, as apparently it must have been very hungry. The home’s security camera captured the moment the bear approached the home’s front porch and rang the doorbell, with the homeowner posting it on Facebook, garnering hundreds of comments.
“When I saw the bear in the video I was so shocked I almost spit out my coffee,” Wendy Watson told Newsweek. Watson said she had encountered bears in her area before, but had never seen one climb onto her porch.
The hungry bear, seeing no “light” by ringing the bell, turned to the birdseed he found at the garden feeders. “The bear tried to get into our garbage can, but it didn’t really do any damage,” he said, adding: “It destroyed two bird feeders, but the house is intact.”
According to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, bear sightings are becoming more common in South Carolina as human development destroys the natural environment where they live, causing the animals to head into human-populated areas.
