Risk of online fraud delays Tory vote

by

Security agency GCHQ has warned that cyber hackers could change citizens’ ballots.

The vote for the next prime minister has been delayed after the GCHQ security agency warned that cyber hackers could change people’s ballots.

The Conservative Party was forced to abandon plans to allow members to change their vote for the next leader later in the vote due to concerns about online fraud.

Liz Truss in front

THE Liz Truss has widened her lead over Rishi Sunak in the Tory leadership race, according to a poll of party members by YouGov.

The new survey shows the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Tras, with 60% of the votes and the former Chancellor, Mr. Sunak, with 26%.

This lead of 34 percentage points among Tory members is wider than the previous YouGov poll last month, which put Ms Tras 18 points ahead.

However, there are doubts about the validity of polls as they are far fewer than those for general elections.
