Boris Johnson and his wife Kelly have put their south London home up for sale for £1.6m as they plan to move out of Downing Street.
The couple could pocket £400,000 for the four-bedroom terraced property they bought in Camberwell in 2019, before Johnson became prime minister, if the buyer offered the asking price.
It is understood that a fight between the two forced them to move out of their previous apartment which was nearby.
But when the Conservative leader made his way to Number 10, they wasted no time at Camberwell House.
According to the MPs Interest Register, they enjoy a rental income of at least £10,000 a year.
A source told the Daily Mail that they are looking for a new home together in Herne Hill, south London.
This house has been undergoing renovations since the beginning of this year.
Mrs. Johnson was recently seen with gardeners cleaning up the back of the house and planting trees in the front.
Carey was seen moving furniture with her mother, Josephine McAfee, in 2019.
This is in contrast to their Downing Street apartment, where the couple underwent a £112,000 renovation with gold wallpaper by exclusive designer Lulu Little.
The estate agent describes the Camberwell property as “offering a wealth of character” in a “beautiful” and “charming” area. They say it occupies 2,100 square feet.
“The property has been finished to an excellent standard throughout, tastefully decorated and retains many features including shutters, wooden floors and low-level cast iron radiators,” added the paddy field.
The house overlooks a park and is about a mile from the Johnsons’ old apartment, where they had a notorious fight.
During a late-night fight, concerned neighbors called the police after hearing screams.
It is believed to have started after red wine was spilled on the sofa, Kelly was heard yelling “Get off” and Boris was heard yelling at Kelly to put down her laptop.
In May, a car crashed into a house that neighbors said sounded like thunder.
