Epic… Seal raids New Zealand home, molests cat and lays on couch

The funny thing is that the father of the family is a marine biologist and he was the only one not at home. It’s the only time it would be useful to have a marine biologist in the house,” he said

A small seal caused a disturbance by invading the home of the Ross family in New Zealand.

As mother Jen Ross, the young seal, reportedly said “harassed” the cat that was also in the house. In fact, the cute animal then decided to take a few breaths and… laid down on the couch, according to the family.

It all started when Jen returned from the gym, opened the door and found “a sweet little seal” waiting for her.

The mother woke up the children, 12 and 10 years old, to see their “new pet”.

But the funny thing about the whole thing is that the father, Phil Roch, happens to be a marine biologist and was the only one not home when the seal invaded.

“The great joke is that this it’s the only emergency where it would be useful to have a marine biologist at home.” the father said humorously. “I missed my chance to shine.”

Eventually the mother managed to lure the seal into following her to the front door and then into the garden.

A specialist showed up to pick up Oscar, as the family named the seal, a short time later, and took him back to his natural habitat. The family cat was located next door “obviously shocked.”

Phil Ross noted that it is not unusual for young seals to explore the area at this time as they begin their personal journey to freedom.
