The shocking moment a van driver crashes at “extremely high speed” into people sitting in an outdoor cafe in Brussels, injuring six people, is captured on video that has gone public.
Six people were slightly injured and pictures from the scene on Rue Saint-Michel show tables and chairs strewn on the floor outside the cafe.

A van has broken into Saint Michel street in the center of Brussels & has run over several customers on a terrace.

The driver, after taking the victims away with the van, did not stop and ran away. The van was found abandoned by police on a nearby road around 2pm.
Police arrested the 48-year-old suspect in the city of Antwerp, 28 miles north of Brussels, about two hours later, local media reported. Prosecutors said the man, who has not yet been named, is being questioned by police.
A witness reported that he and his girlfriend had to jump to save themselves.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday afternoon, a spokesman for the prosecutor’s office said the investigation was ongoing into whether there was a motive behind the incident.
