What Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said – He blames the West for the problems in the delivery of gas through Nord Stream 1

Natural gas supply from Russia to Europe via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline will not fully resume until the West lifts sanctions against Moscow over its invasion of Ukraine, the Kremlin said, according to the Financial Times.

The representative of the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskovargued that EU, UK and Canadian sanctions are an obstacle to the delivery of gas through the main Nord Stream 1 pipeline.

“The problems arose because of the sanctions imposed by Western countries against our country and many companies,” Mr Peskov was quoted as saying by the Interfax news agency. “There are no other reasons that could have caused this pumping problem.”

Immediately after Moscow’s announcement, natural gas prices began to soar, rising at least 30%, with markets tipping for even more.
