Blinken: “Russia is acting in an abominable way”

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken today accused Russia of acting heinously after the discovery of hundreds of bodies buried in a mass grave near Izium liberated by Ukrainian forces, citing possible war crimes.

Russia is acting abominably and this is shown and repeated every time the Russian flood is turned away from parts of the territories it has seized in Ukraine. Anthony Blinken called on the Ukrainian authorities to document these atrocities, stressing that in many cases these are war crimes.

For his part, the Chief of the General Staff of the US Armed Forces, Army General Mark Miley stated that war crimes in Ukraine cannot be hidden.

“As to the overall scale (of possible war crimes), I don’t know. But I will tell you that people will find out. War crimes cannot be hidden, especially things like mass graves,” the US military told reporters in Estonia attending a NATO meeting.

Regarding the concerns expressed to Vladimir Putin by the leaders of China and India on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Samarkand, the head of US diplomacy said: “I think what we are hearing from the side of China and of India echo concerns around the world about the consequences of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, and not only on the Ukrainian people.” “I think this increases the pressure on Russia to end its attack,” he added.
