The 52-year-old accused of beating his daughter in Chania is free

The 52-year-old was imposed the conditions of a ban on leaving the country and the obligation to be present once a month at the Chania Police Department. At the same time, he was forbidden to have any contact with his children, except with his wife, while he is obliged to live in another house.

The 52-year-old man, against whom criminal charges had been brought for domestic violence and the beating of his daughter, was released with restrictive conditions – after his lengthy apology to the Chania investigator – last Wednesday afternoon.

The 52-year-old was imposed the conditions of a ban on leaving the country and the obligation to be present once a month at the Chania Police Department. At the same time, he was forbidden to have any contact with his children, except with his wife, while he is obliged to live in another house.

The investigator examined the 52-year-old’s wife as well as his daughter during the investigation.

Earlier, the single-member Misdemeanor Court of Chania sentenced the 52-year-old to 7 months in prison with a three-year suspension, as he was found guilty of the charge of possession of a weapon, while on Friday he will be tried by the three-member Misdemeanor Court of Chania as he is accused of causing physical harm during his arrest by the authorities injuries to his neighbor and police officers.
