Canada’s government condemns Russian President Vladimir Putin’s order for partial mobilization and his threats to use nuclear weapons, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Wednesday, assuring Ottawa will continue unwavering support for Ukraine.

“Canada condemns Putin’s irresponsible escalation of the war, his order for partial mobilization, his threats to use nuclear weapons, as well as Russia’s hasty referendums to try to annex parts of Ukraine, (which) are unacceptable,” Mr. Trudeau emphasized while speaking to reporters in New York where he is participating in the 77th UN General Assembly.

He also assured that the Canadian government will continue to support Kyiv by imposing stronger sanctions on Russia and sending military aid to Ukraine.
