Cavusoglu: The Greek lobby is to blame for the F-16s – We do not accept conditions

“It is not possible for restrictions to apply from NATO member to NATO member,” Cavusoglu characteristically said

Turkey cannot accept conditions for the F-16s, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said a while ago.

“It is not possible to apply restrictions from NATO member to NATO member,” Tsavousoglou characteristically said, as reported by SKAI’s correspondent in Istanbul, Manolis Kostidis.

In detail, the Turkish Foreign Minister said: “But we also tell the administration and the technical and political negotiations that we will not be in an agreement that ties our hands. Well, we’ll take the F-16s. ‘Use them this way, use them that way’, ‘you can’t do this, you can’t do that’…

» It is not acceptable for a NATO member to impose such a restriction on another NATO member. We know that some lobbies here, especially after the arrival of the Greek prime minister in Washington, some lobbies like Greek lobby and Armenian lobby they opposed it. We know they are trying to block it. But at the moment, it is a true fact that there are lobbies that support Turkey as well.”

It is recalled that among the conditions set by the US to Turkey for the sale or upgrade of F-16s is that no overflights are made over Greek territory.

The Russian S400s are also a key “thorn”.
