Zelensky’s new message in Russian: Putin knowingly ‘sends citizens to their deaths’ – Surrender

by

“No one will know the circumstances of your surrender,” he said hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law amendment that would make it 10 years in prison for soldiers who desert or refuse to fight during periods of conscription.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, addressing Russian citizens directly this evening, told them that their president is knowingly sending “citizens to their deaths.”

“The Russian leadership understands very well that it is sending its citizens to their deaths,” Zelensky said in Russian, calling on Moscow’s forces to surrender.

“You will be treated in a civilized manner…no one will know the conditions of your surrender,” he said hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a legislative amendment that provides for a 10-year prison sentence for servicemen who desert or refuse to fight during periods of conscription.

In the middle of the week, Putin announced the partial mobilization of tens of thousands of reservists.
