The football legend Pelé, who was diagnosed with colon cancer, has been admitted to Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil and is being treated.
According to a hospital announcement, the 81-year-old Pelé will continue his treatment for the colon cancer with which he was diagnosed last September. The announcement adds that the former Brazilian international player is in stable condition and is expected to be discharged in the coming days.
The three-time World Cup winner underwent colon removal surgery in September and spent almost a month in hospital. The hospital said at the time that he would have to undergo chemotherapy.
According to the hospital, Pelé “continues” his treatment. The football legend said on Twitter last month that he is “well” and feels better “every day”.
