The United Arab Emirates and Germany signed today, on the occasion of the visit of the German Chancellor Olaf Solz in Abu Dhabi, an agreement that provides for supply of Berlin with liquefied natural gas (LNG) and diesel this year and 2023.
According to Wam, the official Emirates news agency, the agreement calls for a first shipment of an LNG cargo (137,000 cubic meters) in late 2022, followed by the export of additional, unspecified quantities in 2023.
It also reported a first shipment of diesel in September and an agreement to deliver up to 250,000 tonnes of diesel per month in 2023.
The president of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyansigned an agreement with Soltz covering the acceleration of energy security and industrial development.
After his visit to Abu Dhabi, Scholz will travel to Qatar.
