Israel’s ambassador to Kyiv announced today that the Jewish state will receive and treat 20 Ukrainian soldiers wounded during the seven-day war with Russian forces.
“Israel will take in 20 Ukrainian soldiers who were seriously injured during the war,” Michael Brodsky said on Twitter.
“The first two will arrive in Israel today and receive treatment at Tel Hasomer Hospital” near Tel Aviv, said the diplomat who has been in Kyiv since July 2021.
“Treatment includes prosthetic limbs and rehabilitation,” he stressed.
A medical source confirmed to AFP that two soldiers were on their way to Israel, and a spokeswoman for the Ukrainian embassy in Tel Aviv said the first patients were expected to arrive “soon”.
