Citizens’ dissatisfaction with Economy Minister Robert Hambeck is intensifying

The further increase in citizens’ dissatisfaction with the Minister of Economy Robert Hambeck and its reinforcement Alternative for Germany (AfD) are the key findings of the latest poll in Germany, which was conducted by INSA Institute on behalf of BILD newspaper.

On the question of voting intention, the Christian Union (CDU/CSU) gathers 27.5% (-1 from the previous poll), the Greens 19.5% (+0.5) and the Social Democratic Party (SPD) is limited to 18 % (-0.5). The third government partner, the Liberals (FDP) is strengthened by 0.5 and reaches 8%, with the AfD at 15% (+1) and the Left stable at 5.5%.

In terms of the popularity of members of the government, Mr Hambek, who is heavily criticized for his handling of the extraordinary gas levy and the extension of the operation of nuclear power plants, falls from sixth to ninth place. while he is overtaken by Chancellor Olaf Solz and CDU leader Friedrich Merz. At the top of the ranking, where Mr. Hambeck was until the middle of the month, is also “green” Foreign Minister Analena Burbock, followed by Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Zender.
