Turkey: Attack on a police station last night – One policeman and 2 bombers killed – kamikaze – Video

The attack was committed around 22:40 (21:40 Greek time) by two armed women.

A policeman was killed at around 11pm on Monday when a bomb exploded at a police station in the southern province Mersin, Turkeyand one more was injured, Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu announced.

The minister blamed the action on the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

The attack was committed around 22:40 (21:40 Greek time) by two armed women. They shot the target and then detonated bombs which he had belted, always according to Mr. Soylou.

The action targeted a police station in Mersin’s Mezitli district, according to the state-run Turkish news agency Anadolu.

The PKKa Kurdish separatist group that took up arms against the Turkish state in 1984, is labeled a “terrorist” organization by Ankara, the US and the EU. More than 40,000 people, mostly minorities, have since been killed in the war, mostly in southeastern Turkey .
