The Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet cites the Nordic country’s Coast Guard

Fourth gas pipeline leak Nord Stream reportedly spotted by the Swedish coastguard, Sky News reported on Thursday morning, citing a Swedish newspaper.

“The Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet cites the country’s Coast Guard, which says it detected the leak after damage to two pipelines stretching from Russia to Germany in a total of three places on Monday” it is emphasized.

“Two of these four (s.s. leaks) are in Sweden’s exclusive economic zone,” a coastguard representative told the Scandinavian newspaper.

The other two are in the exclusive economic zone of Denmark.

“The suspected acts of sabotage against natural gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea were probably premeditated attacks using remotely detonated underwater explosive devices,” a British Ministry of Defense source told Sky News.

The source spoke of mines that could have been planted on the seabed, dropped from a ship or placed next to the Nord Stream pipelines by an underwater drone months or even years ago.

The EU suspects that the leaks are due to sabotage of these undersea pipelines that carry gas from Russia to Europe and has warned that it will respond “strongly” to any deliberate disruption of European energy infrastructure.
