North Korea launched two more ballistic missiles today, a few hours after the departure of US Vice President Kamala Harris from South Korea, who visited Seoul today and criticized Pyongyang’s ballistic missile tests.

Harris arrived in South Korea at dawn Greek time for an official visit to reaffirm the strength of the alliance between Washington and Seoul, the day after North Korea test-fired two more ballistic missiles.

The “answer” came from Kim Jong Un a few hours later.

“North Korea fired 2 unidentified ballistic missiles into the East Sea,” better known as the Sea of Japan, South Korea’s military said.

Japanese government source says North Korea appears to have fired two short-range missiles

Harris also visited the demilitarized zone on the border of the two countries with the aim of demonstrating the unwavering commitment of the US to the security of South Korea.

“In the north we see a brutal dictatorship, gross violations of human rights and an illegal weapons program that threatens peace and stability,” the American vice president said.

“The US and the world seek a stable and peaceful Korean Peninsula, in which the DPRK will no longer pose a threat,” he added.

The US vice president’s visit to South Korea comes amid growing concern that Pyongyang is about to conduct a nuclear test. South Korean officials estimate that North Korea has completed preparations for its seventh nuclear test since 2006 – and first since 2017.
