According to a YouGov poll of 1,737 British adults, conducted on Thursday and Friday for The Times newspaper, Labor has a 52% voter intention (down two points from another poll at the end of September) while the Conservatives are at 22% (up one point).
Britain’s opposition Labor Party maintains a huge lead over Prime Minister Liz Truss’s Conservatives, who failed to give the party a boost at its annual conference this week.
According to a YouGov poll of 1,737 British adults, conducted on Thursday and Friday for The Times newspaper, Labor has a 52% voter intention (down two points from another poll at the end of September) while the Conservatives are at 22% (up one point).
Another Opinium poll of a sample of 2,023 voters gives Labor a narrower lead: 47% to the Conservatives’ 26%. It is, however, the largest difference ever recorded in a poll by this institute.
Labor leader Keir Starmer is seen as more suitable to be prime minister by 43% of respondents, compared to 13% for Truss, according to the YouGov poll.
The Opinium poll shows that more than half of Britons (53%) think Truss should resign and almost six in ten (61%) want an election within the year.
The next parliamentary elections in Britain will be held as usual in 2024.
