‘She was beaten to death’: Mother sues Iranian authorities over daughter’s death

“I’m running, the security forces are chasing me,” said the 16-year-old in a message to her friends. Then it disappeared.

The theocratic regime of Iran continues to suffocate the protests, but the protests do not stop, with more than 150 people killed.

One of the victims was Nika Sahkarami who died during the protests that continue to sweep the country. The mother of the 16-year-old girl denied to the Guardian authorities’ claims that her death was due to a “fall from the roof of a building” and insisted she was beaten to death by Tehran regime forces.

“I’m running, the security forces are chasing me,” said the 16-year-old in a message to her friends. Then it disappeared.

Nasreen Shahkarami alleged that the authorities refused for 10 days to notify the family of her daughter’s death, then removed Nika from the mortuary, burying her in a remote village without the family’s consent. Her mother says the 16-year-old’s death records show her skull was severely damaged, and her injuries show repeated blows to her head.

The young student’s death has emerged as yet another iconic figure in a protest movement entering its fourth week, seen as the biggest challenge to the Iranian regime’s power in at least 13 years. Iran’s leaders have sought to characterize the protests as a “foreign conspiracy” and an “independence effort” by the Kurdish minority. However, a multitude of people from all walks of life continue to fuel a movement fueled by widespread social discontent.

Meanwhile, another teenage girl was reportedly killed by security forces. THE Sarina Ezmailzadeh(bottom photo) a 16-year-old who posted a vlog on YouTube, was reportedly killed when security forces beat her with a globe at a demonstration in Gohardast in Alborz province on September 23, according to Amnesty International.

Protests across the country have focused on women’s rights, particularly demands that the hijab not be made compulsory by the theocratic regime.

The death of the 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, who sparked the protests, was not caused by a blow to the head and limbs, the Iranian coroner’s report claimed.

According to him, the cause of her death is multi-organ failure, which caused cerebral hypoxia and is linked to an earlier health problem.

The 22-year-old died after being arrested by the morality police for not wearing her hijab properly.

Amini’s father claims, however, that his daughter had bruises on her legs and blames the police for her death.
