In an email sent to Eurasia Group subscribers, Ian Bremer claimed Musk told him the Russian president was “ready to negotiate” if Crimea remained in Russian hands
Direct chat with him Vladimir Putin it seems that he had Elon Musk before posting the “peace plan” on Twitter.
Specifically, in an email sent to Eurasia Group subscribers, Ian Bremer claimed that Musk told him that the Russian president was “ready to negotiate” if Crimea remained in Russian hands, according to Vice.
“Musk told [@ianbremmer] that Putin was “prepared to negotiate,” but only if Crimea remained Russian, if Ukraine accepted a form of permanent neutrality, and Ukraine recognized annexation of Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.”
In other words, if Ukraine were destroyed. https://t.co/ACVJIA1B7b

Putin also reportedly insisted to the Tesla CEO that Ukraine should accept permanent neutrality and to recognize the annexation of Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions by Russia.
At the same time, Bremer revealed that Putin told Musk that these goals would be achieved “no matter what,” including possible use of nuclear weapons if Ukraine invades Crimea.
Bremer also reported that Musk told him that “everything had to be done to avoid this outcome.”
After the alleged conversation with Putin, Musk posted a poll on Twitter with his suggestions for ending the war in Ukraine.
Ukraine-Russia Peace:
– Redo elections of annexed regions under UN supervision. Russia leaves if that is the will of the people.
– Crimea formally part of Russia, as it has been since 1783 (until Khrushchev’s mistake).
– Water supply to Crimea assured.
– Ukraine remains neutral.
