The head of the Russian energy giant pointed out that “no one can guarantee that Europe will survive the coming winter with the current levels of natural gas it has” – Putin and Novak confirmed
“No one can guarantee that Europe will survive the coming winter with the current levels of natural gas it has” pointed out the head of the Russian energy giant, Gazprom, Alexei Miller in his statements today, Wednesday speaking at the Russian Energy Week conference held in Moscow. He also repeated what the Russian president said earlier Vladimir Putin to create one natural gas energy hub in Turkey destined for Europe.
“The European Union and Germany must give a clear, unequivocal, political answer that they are interested and want to repair the damage and give guarantees“, he stated. He added that the second line of Nord Stream 2 was also damaged in the recent incident targeting major Russian pipelines, “but there are definitely no gas leaks.”
Miller also said that the damages which have been caused in the Nord Stream pipelines they will require at least a year to repair them and that Russia still does not have access to the area where the damage was caused.
It is recalled that earlier Putin proposed to transfer the lost gas transit volume through the Nord Stream pipelines to the Black Sea region, creating the largest natural gas hub in Turkey.
Alexander Novak: Considering additional lines on TurkStream
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, speaking today at the Russian Energy Week energy conference in Moscow, said that Russia will consider building additional lines to the TurkStream natural gas pipeline.
“This is one of the options that will be considered. We will work on this idea,” said Novak.
Novak also said that the leak at the Druzhba (Friendship) oil pipeline appears to have been fixed, and that security measures at the TurkStream pipeline, which carries Russian gas to Turkey, have been “upgraded”.
