New unreleased videos were released by the congressional investigation committee on Thursday, one of which shows the speaker of the House of Representatives angrily threatening to hit Trump
New previously unknown videos and recorded messages from what happened during the invasion of the Capitol on January 6, 2021 were released by the congressional investigation committee yesterday Thursday. In one of them it appears Nancy Pelosi threatening to hit Donald Trump.
Specifically, in a portion of the recording obtained by CNN from Pelosi’s daughter, Nancy Pelosi’s chief of security tells her that the Secret Service prevented Donald Trump from coming to the Capitol. Then she answers him: “If he comes, I’ll punch him out. And I’ll go to jail and I’ll be happy.”
In the exam, the specific passage was presented, but in the unedited material that exists you can see the chaos that prevails during the invasion in which five people lost their lives.
Most of the video shows Pelosi’s actions on Jan. 6, including a phone call she made to then-Vice President Mike Pence asking him about his physical safety, after threats were heard such as “Hang Mike Pence.”
“We’re at Fort McNair, which has facilities for the House and Senate to meet, as a backup plan … should anything happen that would warrant it,” Pelosi tells Pence. “We’d rather go to the Capitol, but it doesn’t seem safe,” he added. At the same time, he urged Pence to stay hidden from the rioters. “Don’t let anyone know where you are.” Pelosi continued.
The speaker of the House of Representatives had been taken with other lawmakers, including Chuck Schumer, the leader of the Democratic wing, to Fort McNair, a safe haven, 3 km from the Capitol.
The video also shows a phone call Pelosi and Chuck Schumer had with Secretary of the Army Ryan McCarthy after hearing rumors that the National Guard would not be called in to end the insurgency.
