The death of Amini was the reason for the outbreak of this protest movement.

More than 120 protesters have been killed so far since the crackdown on protests in Iran, which erupted on September 16 following the death of 22-year-old Kurdish woman Mahsha Amini, according to a new report by the Oslo-based non-governmental organization Iran Human Rights (IHR).

A previous report by the same NGO spoke of at least 108 dead.

The death of Amini was the reason for the outbreak of this protest movement. The young Kurdish woman died three days after she was arrested by the morality police for not wearing her headscarf properly.

As the IHR reported, 122 people have lost their lives in the repression of the protests which are noted in many cities of Iran.

Also in the city of Zahedan, in the province of Sistan-Baluchistan, at least 93 people have been killed in the violent incidents that began on September 30 after a girl was raped by a police officer.

Among the dead in both the protests for Amini and those in Zahedan are included 27 children, the NGO pointed out.
