Kyiv is again targeted by Russian forces, launching an attack on civilians and energy facilities – At least eight dead – Alarm at the Zaporizhia factory
The Ukrainian capital has been under a barrage of drone attacks since Monday morning, with Russian forces launching continuous attacks against civilians but also against energy facilities in the central and northern regions of the country, plunging a huge part of it into darkness, among them the Zaporizhia nuclear plant.
The death toll from the bombing of a residential complex in Kyiv in the early hours of Monday rose to four. Among them a pregnant woman. Another four died in the Sumi region after another Russian strike, the regional governor of the region said.

“It seems that the current enemy unites in evil all the previous enemies of our state. It works insidiously – killing civilians, hitting homes, infrastructure. Today, as a result of the invaders’ attack on a residential building in Kyiv, four people have already lost their lives. Among them was a young family who was pregnant. Search and rescue operations are still ongoing,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a new Telegram message.
“Terror must lose and will lose, and Ukraine will prevail. And he will bring to justice every Russian terrorist – from commanders to private individuals who carried out criminal orders,” he concluded.
Over the past week, Russian forces have been launching sustained attacks using Iranian drones throughout the country, as the Ukrainian side points out with at least 19 people have lost their lives in total.
THE mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko stated that five kamikaze drones were used in the morning attack on the capital while a total of 28 drones were launched, but 23 were shot down by Ukrainian forces he pointed out as a result of which they did not find a target.
Alarm at the pine factory of Zaporizhia
Following the new Russian attacks, the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant was plunged back into darkness, Energy Minister Herman Khalushchenko said with emergency generators activated.
The Russians are “testing our ability” to quickly fix key infrastructure such as power substations, the minister said, describing what is happening as “nuclear blackmail by the terrorist state”.

At the same time, evena 585 towns and villages across Ukraine are now without electricityUkraine’s Deputy Interior Minister Yevhen Jenin said as a result of the Russian attacks.
Speaking live on Ukrainian television, he claimed that the Russians are “terrorizing not only the capital but entire regions of Ukraine.”
“Russia is after all energy facilities,” warns the deputy interior minister. “They want to cause chaos in the energy industry,” he concluded.

EE is monitoring Iran’s supply of drones
EU foreign ministers meeting in Luxembourg today will discuss the transfer of Iranian drones to Russia with the possibility of new sanctions on the table.
Top EU diplomat Josep Borrell said the EU was looking for “concrete evidence” of any Iranian involvement in Russia’s war against Ukraine. However, several foreign ministers have already said they are confident Iran is supplying Russia with drones.
