Prince Harry: Psychotherapy ‘opened my eyes’

“I spent my life thinking there was only one way to live,” Prince Harry said

Prince Harry is a big supporter of mental health professionals. His son King Charles of the United Kingdom reported the benefits he experienced after starting treatment. The Duke of Sussex stressed how limited his perspective was before he began discussions with a mental health professional.

“The moment I started doing therapy, it opened my eyes,” said Prince Harry recently, who was a special guest at “The Masters of Scale Summit,” a conference in San Francisco for entrepreneurs and business executives seeking success.

“I spent my life thinking there was only one way to live. And the treatment changed that perception,” he explained. “Then when I found my way into life coaching, I suddenly realized that I now have perspective and a great understanding of my worth. I regained confidence, which I never thought I had,” she added.

“It’s exciting to know what the human potential is for every person here in this room and around the world,” Harry noted. “But we’re also at a point where we really need to unlock that potential. The only way we can do that is to develop ourselves, but also to help the people we are responsible for develop as well,” he stressed.

In the documentary series “The Me You Can’t See”, which he created with Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry pointed out that psychotherapy was not a topic of discussion in his family. But his inner circle had noticed changes in his behavior.

“It was some people close to me who started saying, ‘This is not normal behavior, maybe you should look into it or maybe go get help,'” Prince Harry stressed, noting that the age of 28 to 30 was a period “nightmare” full of stress and exhaustion due to his duties as a member of the royal family.
