The Group of Seven most industrialized countries on the planet condemns the “kidnapping” of members of the management and staff of the nuclear plant in Zaporizhia, Ukraine by the Russian armed forces and demands the re-handover of full control of the power plant in Kyiv.
“We condemn the repeated abductions of leaders and staff members” of the factory, the directors general of the G7 body said in a press release dated today.
“We urge Russia to immediately return full control” of this plant “to its rightful and sovereign owner”, which is Ukraine, the text added.
Russian armed forces seized the factory — the largest of its kind in Europe — in the first days of their invasion of Ukrainian territory, which began on February 24.
