Plane crash off Puerto Rico: German millionaire Rainer Schaller and his family dead

The plane, which was on a private flight, had taken off from the state of Chiapas in southern Mexico

The German businessman and millionaire Rainer Schaller and his family were aboard the plane that went down off Puerto Rico, east of Costa Rica, the government announced today.

Source of the Ministry of Public Security Costa Rica confirmed that “Saler, a 53-year-old man,” along with five other people, were on the passenger list of the plane that went down in the Caribbean.

The plane, which was on a private flight, had taken off, according to local media, from the state of Chiapas, in southern Mexico. He lost contact with air traffic controllers in Costa Rica on the afternoon of Friday, October 21, while en route to Limon, his destination, for landing.

Investigations were immediately launched to locate him.

Earlier today, Costa Rica’s Minister of Public Security announced that two bodies had been found off Puerto Limón, as well as the wreckage of the plane.
