Britain’s Tim Megginson broke the Guinness World Record for a gymnastics class at a higher altitude, reaching 6,476 meters.
A British gym owner led a group of climbers to Mount Mera in Nepal in a 30-minute fitness class at 6,476 meters to break a Guinness World Record.
Tim Megginson, owner of Body Shape Fitness in Ely, England, took the fitness class after nine days of climbing with his eight companions.
“We camped at Mera and on the tenth day we reached the summit at 6,476 metres,” Megginson told the Ely Standard newspaper.
The gymnast aims to surpass the previous record of 5,714 meters (18,746.72 feet) held by participants in the High Altitude Obstacle Course on Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro in 2021.
“Everyone was committed to the project, to the project, and everyone participated with a positive attitude,” Megginson said.
Tim Megginson pointed out that the climb also involved an attempt at chess at the highest altitude.
