When police arrived, students were running out of the school and told officers the shooter had a “long-barreled weapon,” Mack said during a news conference after the incident.
The officers exchanged fire with the gunman and fatally wounded him, the officer added.
David Williams, a math teacher at the school, heard multiple gunshots outside his classroom and one of the windows in the classroom door where he was teaching was shattered by a bullet. He then heard a man say, “you will all die.”
