IAEA sends inspectors to Ukraine to probe Russia’s ‘dirty bomb’ claims

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is to send inspectors to two Ukrainian nuclear facilities in the coming days to investigate Moscow’s allegations that Kyiv is building a “dirty bomb”, which the Ukrainian side strongly denies. In fact, the Ukrainian government invited IAEA experts, underlining that it has nothing to hide.

“The International Atomic Energy Agency is aware of the allegations made on Sunday by the Russian Federation regarding alleged activities at two Ukrainian nuclear facilities,” the IAEA said in a statement, noting that both facilities are subject to inspections by the IAEA. and one of them had been inspected the previous month.

“The International Atomic Energy Agency is going to visit the (specific) facilities in the next few days,” it is underlined.
