Ulyanov had responded to repeated calls by the UN agency for a de-escalation of clashes near the plant, Europe’s largest nuclear power plant.
“The bottom line (of the IAEA proposal) is in short that you cannot fire from the area of the nuclear plant and you cannot fire towards the plant. Very reasonable idea, which we generally support. The question, as always, is in the details,” Ulyanov was quoted as saying by TASS.
The Zaporizhia nuclear power plant has been the site of a dispute for months, with both sides accusing each other of carrying out attacks on the plant.
