Ukraine and Russia are exchanging accusations amid the possibility of another round of negotiations

The Kremlin accused her today Ukraine that tIn March he withdrew from the peace talks with Russia “by order” of the United States, even though “a very, very difficult balance” had been struck between Kiev and Moscow.

“The text was indeed ready. (…) And then, suddenly, the Ukrainian side disappeared from the radar, (declared) that it no longer wanted to continue negotiations” said the representative of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov, saying that Vladimir Putin considered it “obvious” that “such a rejection of already agreed deals happened clearly at the behest of Washington.”

“It is obvious”, he told reporters.

“THE Ukrainian side declared its reluctance to continue negotiations, and then this reluctance actually turned into a law that prohibits the Ukrainian side and the Ukrainian president and everyone else from negotiating with Russia and with President Putin,” Peskov said.

yesterday wednesday the president of Guinea-Bissau, Oumarro Sissoko Embalo, he said in Kyiv that Vladimir Putin, whom he had visited the day before, “had expressed the idea that he was ready to negotiate with President Zelensky”.

Asked about these remarks, Mr. Peskov assured that Russia is “ready to guarantee its interests at the negotiating table.”

“We want to, but in this case we are talking about complete reluctance on the part of Ukraine,” he lamented, adding that “there was no concrete message” from the Ukrainian presidency.

THE Volodymyr Zelensky, for his part, ruled out any possibility of talks with Moscow, denouncing hern “premeditated rhetoric” of Vladimir Putin, while yesterday he stated that in order to unblock relations, Russia should stop attacking political infrastructure.

In Zelensky’s view, Vladimir Putin’s messages about readiness for dialogue are only rhetoric aimed at Russian public opinion and countries that still maintain political relations with Russia. He stressed that Ukraine will be ready for negotiations if Russia respects its sovereignty, territorial integrity and borders, which is not happening now.

The Ukrainian president, speaking yesterday during a press conference with the president of Guinea-Bissau, said that Russia sent “signals” to Kyiv about the possibility of “building bridges”, in the context of the ongoing military invasion of Ukraine for more than eight months.

Guinea-Bissau’s president held talks in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday. According to what Volodymyr Zelensky stated, the Russian leadership conveyed signals to the leadership of Ukraine through the president of Guinea-Bissau.

“He said that Russia wants to build bridges,” Zelensky noted, stressing that for anything to happen, Russia must stop attacking political infrastructure. “The second issue that Russia brought up is that we need to unblock relations… Let’s start to unblock at least the Black Sea,” the Ukrainian president said.

At the end of September, the Ukrainian president stated categorically that Ukraine will not negotiate with Russia while Vladimir Putin is president.

Talks between Kiev and Moscow have been bogged down since March, with both sides blaming each other for the impasse.
