Russia’s decision to withdraw “is yet another proof that Moscow is not willing to abide by any international agreement,” Warsaw’s foreign ministry said.
Following Russia’s “absolute” withdrawal from the grain deal, Poland said today that it, along with its European partners, is ready to provide Ukraine with further assistance in transporting essential goods, Warsaw’s foreign ministry said on Sunday.
Russia’s decision to withdraw from a UN-brokered deal that allowed Ukraine to export grain through the Black Sea offered “further proof thatMoscow is not willing to abide by any international agreement“, the ministry added on Twitter.
More recently, the European Union called on Russia earlier today to reverse its decision to withdraw from the agreement. EU High Representative Josep Borrell tweeted that “the EU urges Russia to reverse its decision to suspend its participation in the grain deal.”
Mr Borel adds that “Russia’s decision to suspend participation in the Black Sea agreement puts at risk the main export route for much-needed grain and fertilizer to address the global food crisis caused by the war against Ukraine.”
