Egypt broke off talks with Turkey over Libya

“Turkey has not removed its troops from Libya and this violates the agreements,” the Egyptian foreign minister pointed out.

Turkey-Egypt relations are on a tightrope, with the Egyptian foreign minister, Sameh Shukri to clarify how all communication with Ankara is interrupted during an interview with the Arab satellite channel Al Arabiya.

According to exclusive information from the correspondent of SKAI in Istanbul, Manolis Kostidis the reason is that they clearly disagree on the issue of Libya.

“Turkey has not removed its troops from Libya” said Soukry and “this violates the agreements that have been made in the past and that is why Egypt is cutting off all contact with Turkey.”

According to the SKAI correspondent this development concerns Greece because it is very difficult to survive a Turkish-Libyan memorandum without the consent of Egypt, which is a very important country in the eastern Mediterranean and Libya plays an important role. At the same time, according to the report, Turkey’s attitude towards Greece, but also regarding hydrocarbons and regarding the military agreements it signed a few days ago, seems to have angered Egypt.
