The 13.5 tonne bell will now mark the hours of the day while four smaller ‘quarter bells’ will ring every 15 minutes with a series of melodies. Each hour hand of the clock is 2.7 m long and weighs 300 kg, while each minute hand is 4.2 m long and weighs approximately 100 kg.
