“As we speak, more than ten million Ukrainians do not have electricity,” especially in the Kyiv region, the head of state emphasized in his evening televised speech.

Repeated Russian bombings have targeted energy infrastructure in Ukraine since October, facing frequent power and water outages for millions of citizens.
Ukrenergo, the national operator of the electricity grid, announced yesterday that the outages would be extended for at least a day due to the “deterioration of the situation”.
At the same time, due to the “sharp drop in temperature, electricity consumption increased in regions of Ukraine”, which “further complicates the already difficult situation in the system” and leads to “wider restrictions” on consumption throughout the country.
“Terrible” range of torture cases in Kherson
The scale of torture cases in Kherson during the Russian occupation is “terrible”, a senior Ukrainian human rights official has said.
“I have never seen ‘torture’ on such a scale,” “after visiting all the torture chambers in different regions of Ukraine,” said Dmytro Lubinets, the parliament’s human rights official, speaking on national television. “The scope of the phenomenon is tremendous.”
“Dozens of people” were tortured with “electric shocks, they were hit with metal pipes. Their bones were broken” and “the Russians were filming all of this,” he said. “I am sure that in every large area we will discover a torture chamber. As this is a system that Russia has established.”
