According to court documents obtained by The Times, she became pregnant after her conviction in January. Holmes, who was the subject of an HBO documentary as well as a Hulu miniseries starring Amanda Seyfried, welcomed her first child in August 2021, before her criminal trial began.

That pregnancy was first revealed in court in March 2021, when her defense attorney and prosecutors filed court papers asking a judge to move up the start date of her trial since the birth was in July.
