The new director of Twitter proceeded to lay off dozens more employees – and even at night – although a few days ago Musk had declared that the layoffs were over and instead he was interested in hiring new people.

According to Business Today, several dozen Twitter employees were laid off on Wednesday night – most of them engineers – on the eve of the US Thanksgiving holiday.

According to the report, the people who were fired were among the “hardliners,” those who had decided to stay behind to support Musk’s Twitter.

They were also fired in the same impersonal way – a personal email and cutting off access to Twitter’s internal services and communications.

Twitter has fired senior executives and drastically cut the number of jobs after Elon Musk’s stormy takeover of the company closed last month. About 50% of Twitter’s workforce (about 3,700 employees) was laid off, while more than 1,000 employees resigned, protesting the platform’s new leadership style.
