They are calling for the secondary care bill to be withdrawn

Hospital doctors are planning strike action from next week rejecting the secondary care bill tabled in Parliament.

Particularly:

  • Monday 28/11, day of hearing bodies in the Parliament for the 24-hour strike and rally in the Parliament bill
  • Tuesday 29/11 24-hour strike and gathering at the Ministry of Health
  • Thursday 1/12 24-hour strike and gathering in the Parliament with a call to Labor Centers, unions, ADEDY etc.

The bill has been rejected by OENGE and all the Associations of hospital doctors and as the Athens-Piraeus Hospital Doctors Association (EINAP) states, “it is a bill that opens dangerous back doors in the direction of the degradation of the health services provided, the further aid the commercialization of public health and the giantization of the private health sector”. He adds that “the abolition of the full and exclusive employment of NHS doctors removes one more obstacle for patients to become easy clients in the private sector…” EINAP concludes that “these changes constitute, at the same time, an upheaval and upheaval of labor relations of public hospital doctors”.
