Poverty in Turkey: Basic salary reduced to 169 euros and Erdogan “removes” ministers

by

Recep Tayyip Erdogan fired two new “beheadings” at the finance staff in the early hours of the morning, removing two deputy finance ministers from the government, while impoverishment in Turkey continues with the basic salary being reduced to 169 euros.

The Turkish president, after replacing three times Minister of Finance, four Central Bank governors, has now proceeded to “dismantle” the two deputy ministers, despite the assurances that everything is going well in the economy.

At the same time, the basic salary, with the devaluation of the Turkish pound exceeding 70% and 85% against the dollar since the beginning of the year, fell to 169 euros, when 6-7 years ago it was at 430 euros.

In this climate, the Central Bank of Turkey sold $ 4.5 billion to support the currency since the beginning of the month, while the Minister of Finance, Nureddin Nebati, asked the businessmen to turn their backs by selling dollars and buying Turkish pounds.

And all this at a time when the devaluation of the pound is breaking one record after another. At the moment, for the first time in the history of Turkey, the dollar has reached 15.05 pounds and the euro 17 pounds.

Finally, the visit of the US ambassador to the mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglu, made an impression yesterday, who in recent days has adopted a more aggressive rhetoric about the Turkish economy and the government.
