Germany will send “more than 350 generators” to Ukraine, whose energy infrastructure was partially destroyed by Russian strikes, a German government spokesman said today.

Chancellor Olaf Solz spoke by phone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and assured him that Berlin would soon provide Kyiv with additional support, Steffen Hempstreit said in a statement. He clarified that German aid in the energy sector reaches 56 million euros to date.

The German chancellor also condemned the continued shelling and reiterated that his country continues to support Ukraine, both in the area of air defense and in the reconstruction of the country in the long term.

Since early October, Russia has launched a series of missile attacks targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. According to Ukrainian government data, 25-30% of these infrastructures were damaged.
