Police were called to an unconscious man in the Bronx around 4 a.m. Monday.
Rushing to the scene, he found Vallelonga unconscious and with no apparent injuries.
The actor was widely known for his role in the Oscar-winning film ‘Green Book’ and was the son of ‘Tony Lip’, played by Viggo Mortensen in the said film.
He also played in The Birthday Cake, The Gravesend and appeared in the popular Sopranos series.
Vallelonga in the film played the role of Rudy Vallelonga’s uncle.
An autopsy will shed light on the causes of his death, with the authorities having already begun further investigation of the case.
They have already proceeded with an arrest, that of 35-year-old Steven Smith, who is accused of hiding the actor’s body.
