One of Elvis Presley’s private jets will be sold at auction on December 22, 1976, for $840,000, according to Mecum Auctions.
The 1962 JetStar – one of 202 built in partnership with Lockheed – is red with silver accents and the interior is upholstered in red velvet and gold trim.
The aircraft can accommodate up to nine passengers and has a microwave, TV with video player and cassette player.
The highest bidder will get – in addition to the aircraft – a copy of the security agreement signed by the singer and a copy of his bill of sale.
The sen aircraft has been rebuilt and will need a new engine and cockpit to fly again, reaching top speeds of 565 miles per hour with a fuel range of 2,500 miles.
The auction house’s website states that a Saudi Arabian company acquired the aircraft in 1977.
According to the Daily Mail, it was auctioned for $430,000 in 2017 after being rescued from 30 years on a runway at the Roswell International Air Plane Graveyard.
