Tightening measures across Europe due to the Omicron mutation

by

One after the other, the countries are taking measures that had been used in previous phases of the pandemic, in the shadow of the new Omicron mutation of the coronavirus, but also in view of the holidays.

Only with a negative molecular test of 72 hours or a rapid test of 24 hours will be able to enter our country, from tomorrow Sunday, at 6 in the morning, all travelers, vaccinated or not, from other countries.

The measure will be valid until January 10.

In France, the government announced a ban on large public parties during the holidays and fireworks on New Year’s Eve.

All citizens, vaccinated or not, are required to undergo a self-diagnostic test before making a visit.

In addition, the conditions for access to the country with the health pass are tightened, while the interval for the administration of the booster dose is reduced to four months from five.

The Irish government has ordered the closure of bars and restaurants at 8pm, while reducing the number of participants in all public events.

Among the high-risk countries were Berlin, France and Denmark, due to the very high number of coronavirus cases in them.

This means that those unvaccinated travelers from those countries will now be required to be quarantined for five days while undergoing a diagnostic test on the fifth day.
