The docking of three ships of non-governmental organizations was decided by the Italy. The first, from the German NGO Louise Michel, with 33 Immigrants and refugees has already arrived in Lampedusa. Tomorrow, 248 “desperate people of the sea” who are on the ship Geo Barents will disembark in Salerno, while another 261 will be transferred from the ship Humanity1 – also owned by an NGO – to the port of Bari.

“Our solidarity response will not be lacking, as long as the rules are respected, also by NGOs,” Italian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani said from Alicante, Spain.

In total, these are 542 immigrants and refugeesamong which – as reported by the Italian media – there are many unaccompanied minors. In the maritime area of ​​Lower Italy the weather conditions have worsened and rough seas are likely to delay the docking of ships.
